I intend to be brief again today.*

I have no particular complaints or wisdom to share, but I do have two new pictures of dogs:

Oh so Marvel-Oso.

These were taken with my new camera phone, the Google Pixel 3a. Good camera, I read, with sharp pictures. I agree. Even the sleep in Marvel’s eye is vivid, as are the bags under Ludo’s. I gotta be careful with this new device, particularly after the boys have just woken up. 😉

My old phone was a Samsung Galaxy s7, and it was fantastic. Served me well. The only reason I got rid of it was because it had icons burned into the screen so I saw FB, IG, Twitter, and Evernote on every page. Among others. It finally irritated me enough to go shopping. I thought about getting the new Galaxy but, in the end, I got cheap. I found the “best phone for the lowest price” instead. No regrets. I only really use the phone to snap pics, text friends, and check social media updates. I could probably do most of that with a bag phone.

Behind Marvel in the second pic is my patio and deck. The patio has probably been there since the mid-90s, and is sagging in spots. The deck was built for me by my landlord before I moved in. Did I ever tell you about her? I owe her a lot. A Tom never forgets.

On top of the patio is my new BBQ. “New,” as in I bought it for the Super Bowl last year. Every time the Rams win I buy myself something special: a beer koozie, license plate frame, jersey, etc. When the Rams won the NFC Championship game I bought me a BBQ. It’s a Weber. One of those $800 versions. It cooks real nice and has a probe. I really like when the Rams win.

They won last week, by the way. Beat the Cardinals. They’ll lose tomorrow. To the Seahawks. Every week is a playoff game for us now, so I hope they prove me wrong. But the Seahawks are a better team than the Rams this year, with a better QB and a better coach. It’s just true. Always pick reason over emotion, I say.

Have you been keeping up on the impeachment thing? Donald Trump used the powers of the president to elicit foreign help with his reelection, which is about as wrong a thing as you can ever do as president. See, the idea for someone in that office is to do everything they can to help the people that they serve, namely us. Not themselves. That’s the idea. But that’s not how Donald Trump works. He’s a self-serving, dishonest, and reprehensible conman. And in case you haven’t been paying attention since 1980-something or so, that’s all he’s ever been. If you think anything different, you’re either fooling yourself or he’s fooling you. Either way, you have the power to stop it, and only you do.

November was a pretty fantastic month, and December is shaping up nice. Even though I’m probably not going anywhere on vacation, I am taking a vacation and I’m gonna try and get some things done. Get organized. Get back into the reading habit. I haven’t had a vacation in two years or a staycation in four. I’m not that into traveling, anyway. I leased a Limited Edition Star Wars Nissan Rogue One in May of 2017 with an allowance of 12,000 miles a year and, after almost 3 years, it has 14,000 miles on it. I like home. Home is the best place ever.

Speaking of which, two of my best friends on the planet are about to close on the house across the street from me. There are only 8 houses in my cul-de-sac and we’ll own 1/4 of them. I’ll let you know when the others hit the market and you can join us. Once the block parties start, those houses could come available quick. 😁

  3. Love my Pixel 3a! Like you, photos are my primary cell phone use, then checking email on the go, then actual phone calls. I also upgraded from a Samsumg Galaxy 7. Not only is the Pixel 3a half the price of most cell phones, but has a better camera. Especially for pet photos 🙂 Salud!

    Congrats on the new phone and the Rams beating the Seahawks! We won’t discuss the Cowboys. Well, I just found out Maher got the axe this afternoon. Maybe the new kicker will do better and inspire the rest of the team. Watching Eagles and Giants game right now. We want Eli and Company to win. Salud means it’s time to drink, no? If so, SALUD, my friend!

      Alas, the Eagles made the comeback, making this Sunday’s game (against my Rams!) extra critical for them Cowboys. For both of us, really. Gonna be a race to the finish, and my team gonna need some help from Vikings opponents! Go Chargers, Packers, and Bears!

      Of course, we still gonna have to go to SF and handle our division rival in two weeks. 😮

      But, hey, can’t do anything about any of that. I still got a new phone!
